Jampel Dzongkha has been a gelong at Trongsa for 13 years, before going to Zhemgang and Bumthang. Trongsa was named by Yongzin Ngayel Wangchuck. Trongsa was considered to be the center of our country, and its dzong was considered to be one of the largest and best temples in Bhutan. There are internal, external and secret names for Trongsa. The internal name is Trongsa; the external is Mangdi; and the secret is Choekhor Rabten Tse Dzong. Trongsa was established in the year 1650. There are four region regions of Trongsa (mangdi tsozhi). Trongsa Dzong is still an important Dzong, as all kings have to become Trongsa Poenlop before they are crowned king.
