The song “The High Sky in Search of Religion” (Gungtö Tönpo Chöla Drogyu) is performed by Tshechula from Daagsa village in Mongar District. This is a farewell song that expresses the wish to meet again with the departing person in coming years. The lyrics say that the high sky is going to practice the Dharma and I, the sun, despite my wish to do the same, do not have the opportunity to do so this year but wish to practice the Dharma in the next year; so, I shall pray that we meet again in the coming year. The song also makes use of the images of a mountain and a snow lion, as well as a meadow and a stag, to speak about departure and to express the wish to meet again.
