Posing riddles is an old tradition in Bhutan, where it particularly popular in rural areas. A riddle is a question or a statement that should to be solved using intelligence and reasoning. Riddles have been posed at leisure times for entertainment since ancient times. It is an art that gives meaning to a particular object. For example, "There is nothing to hold on; it can be lift up with hands." The answer to the above statement is to "wear a hat." Nowadays, the art of posing riddles is declining, because not many of the villagers practice it.
༉ མཁར་གཏམ་མམ་དྲག་དྲགཔ་མཁས་མཁསཔ་འདི་ ད་རེས་ནངས་པར་བཟུམ་གྱི་འཕྲུལ་རིག་ཡར་རྒྱས་གོང་འཕེལ་མ་འགྱོ་བའི་གནས་སྐབས་ནང་ དར་ཁྱབ་ཆེ་ཏོག་ཏོ་སྦེ་ཡོད་པའི་ལམ་སྲོལ་ཅིག་ཨིན། དང་ཕུ་ང་བཅས་ར་སྲུང་གཏང་སྲོལ་ཡོདཔ་བཟུམ་སྦེ་ར་ ཤར་ཕྱོགས་ལུང་ཕྱོགས་ཀྱི་ཚངས་ལྷའི་ཁ་སྐད་ནང་ མཁར་གཏམ་ཟེར་ ཕྱི་རུ་ཉལ་རནམ་ཁར་ མེ་བསད་ མགུ་ཧང་ཁར་བཀལ་ གཅིག་གིས་དྲི་བ་བཀོད་ཅི་ར་ གཅིག་གིས་ལན་སླབ་སྟེ་ ལན་ཕོག་མ་ཚུགས་པ་ཅིན་ གཡུས་གཅིག་གི་ཁྱིམ་ཚུའི་སྦྱིན་བདག་ཚུ་གི་མིང་བཏོནམ་སྦེ་ དྲི་བ་རེ་རེ་གི་ཁྱིམ་རེ་བྱིན་ཏེ་ མཁར་གཏམ་དེ་སྦེ་བཏང་བའི་སྲོལ་ཅིག་ཡོདཔ་ཨིན། འ་ནཱི་བཟུམ་འབད་མི་དེ་ཡང་ ཕྱིའི་མཐོང་སྣང་ལུ་རྩེདམོ་བཟུམ་སྦེ་མཐོང་རུང་ ནང་ན་གཅིག་གིས་གཅིག་རིག་པ་བརྟག་དཔྱད་འབད་དོ་ཡོདཔ་ལས་ རིག་པ་གོང་འཕེལ་བཏང་ཚུགས་པའི་ཁེ་ཕན་ཡོདཔ་ཨིན། འདི་ལུ་ རང་རང་སོ་སོའི་ལུང་ཕྱོགས་ཀྱི་ཁ་སྐད་དང་བསྟུན་ཏེ་ མིང་བཏགས་ཐང་ཡང་མ་འདྲཝ་སྦེ་འདུག དེ་ཡང་ ཚངས་ལྷའི་ཁ་སྐད་ནང་མཁར་གཏམ་དང་ ཁྱོད་ཅག་ང་ཅག་གི་ཁ་སྐད་ནང་ཤེས་ལོང་། དེ་ལས་ གཡང་རྩེ་པའི་ཁ་སྐད་ནང་ཤོ་ལོང་དང་ སྤར་ཝང་གི་ཁ་སྐད་ནང་ དྲག་དྲགཔ་མཁས་མཁསཔ། དེ་བཟུམ་སྦེ་ར་ ཤར་གྱི་ཁ་སྐད་ནང་ཤེས་ཤེསཔ་དང་ བུམ་ཐང་པའི་ཁ་སྐད་ནང་མེག་སེམ་ཅོབ་ཅོབ། ཆུ་སྨད་པའི་ཁ་སྐད་ནང་ཕི་ཀོ་ལྡིང་ལྡིང་། སྐུར་སྟོད་པས་མེག་པ་ཅོབ་ཅོབ། ལྷོ་མཚམས་པའི་ཁ་སྐད་ནང་གའུ་ཁ་ནི་ཀ་ཐཱ་ཟེར་ འབྲུག་རྒྱལ་ཁབ་གཅིག་ནང་རང་ ལམ་སྲོལ་གཅིག་ལུ་ ཁ་སྐད་དང་འཁྲིལ་ཏེ་མིང་བཏགས་ཐང་མ་འདྲཝ་དེ་སྦེ་འདུག

- ཀར་ན་ཀུ་མར་ག་ལེ Karna Kumar Ghalleyཨང་བཞི་པ། ཀེབ་ཏ་བཟའ་གེ་ཟེར་ན་བཟའ་མ་ཚུ་ རྨོ་གེ་ཟེར་ན་གླང་ཅུང་རྨོ་མ་ཚུ་ བཟུང་གེ་ཟེར་ན་སྤག་ཚར་ཁརཝ་བཟུང་མ་ཚུགས་ འདི་ག་ཅིག་སྨོ། ཉིམ། སྟག སྦུལ།Number fourA cake that cannot be eaten, an ox that cannot be tamed and a cane stick that cannot be touched with it.
