Video Overview
This song is about a love story. Galeem, a beautiful girl from Changyul in Punakha District fell in love with Singye, a government official who served in the same district under the governor, or “dzongpon.” Galeem was offered a marriage proposal by the dzongpon. In the meantime, Singye was sent away as the Gasa Lama’s attendant. Since Galeem was expecting a child from Singye, she refused the dzongpon’s marriage proposal. This infuriated her father, and she was banished from her house. As she drowned herself in dilemma, she saw a traveler going elsewhere. She requested him to pass on the message about her predicament to Singye so that he can return as soon as possible to her.
