The term Radrag refers to the name of local deity of Bjena Geog. During the arrival of Guru Rinpoche from Tibet, Radrag invited him to his abode. While Guru asked question on how is his abode, he explained that it is immensely huge in size and accepted to visit. After arrival at Shobley, Guru was unpleasant about his explanation of the cave and renamed the cave as Radrag (cave of goat). Thus, through the name of cave deity’s name was also derived as Radrag.

    About Nyep Radrap (local deity) Radrap didn't come from Tibet. He is a owner of this place who took an oath to become the protector of the place.

    ཏེ་འ་ནེ་སྦེ་འབདཝ་ད་ ཁོ་གིས་ གུ་རུ་རིན་པོ་ཆེ་ ཡར་ལས་མར་གདན་དྲངས་དྲངསམ་མས་ ཡར་ལས་མར་བོད་ལས་ གདན་དྲང་པར་བྱོན་བྱོནམ་མས་བོད་ལུ་ གུ་རུ་རིན་པོ་ཆེ། གུ་རུ་རིན་པོ་ཆེ་ཡར་བོད་ལས་མར་ ང་བཅས་འབྲུག་ལུ་འབྱོན་དགོ་གསེས་ ཁོ་གདན་དྲངམ་ད། ཏེ་ཁྱོད་ཕོ་དྲང་འདི་ ག་བཟུམ་ཅིག་ཡོདཔ་གསེས་དྲིཝ་ད་ སྤ་ངེའི་ཕོ་བྲང་འདི་ གནམ་མེད་ས་མེད་སྦོམ་ཡོད་གསེས་ ཏེ་ཁོ་འ་ནེ་སྦེ་ཞུ་ཞུཝ་མས།
    So he invited Guru Rinpoche from Tibet. He went to Tibet to invite Guru Rinpoche to Bhutan. Then [Guru Rinpoche] asked, "how big id your resident?". [Radrap] said, "i have a very big resident".

    སྟེ་དེ་ལས་ ད་ལྟོ་ཨ་ཡར་ སྒོར་གོ་ན་གི་ཡར་ལུ་ ཤོབ་ལེ་ལ་གསེས་འདུག་མེན་ན། འ་ནི་ཤོབ་ལེ་ལ་ལས་ ཏེ་ཀྱེ་ཁྱོད་ཕོ་བྲང་ཟེར་གསེས་ ཨ་ཕི་ཨིན་ལགས་གསེས་ གཟིགས་ཕུལ་རྐྱབ་ད་ ཨ་ཁྱོད་ཤོབ་རྐྱབ་མས། ཁྱོད་ཕོ་བྲང་འདི་རང་ ར་བཟུམ་ཅིག་ལས་མིན་འདུག་བ་གསེས་ གུ་རུ་རིན་པོ་ཆེ་གིས་ འ་ནེ་སྦེ་གསུངས་ཡི་གསེས་ཨིན་མས།
    When they reached Gorgonang (Shomleyla), [Guru Rinpoche] asked, "show me, where is your resident?". [Radrap] pointing with finger said, "that is my resident". "You lied to me. your resident is not bigger than a goat", said Guru Rinpoche.

    Guru Rimpoche. "Your resident is not bigger than a goat and your Radrap", said [Guru Rimpoche].

    Radrag Punsum is, for example, one is like our king while one is like monk. One is called Digpar Tinga.

    འ་ནི་སྡིགཔ་སྟིང་ཡ་གསེས་མི་འདི་གིས་ རྫུ་འཕྲུལ་རྐྱབ་སྟེ་གིས་སྦེ་ འབད་བཅུགཔ་ཨིན་གསེས་མས། ཏེ་ཁོ་གི་ཁ་ཐུག་ལས་ ཏེ་ཤ་བཟའ་དགོ་དོ་ཡོད་ནི་འདི་གིས། སྡིགཔ་སྟིང་ཡ་གི་ཁ་ཐུག་ལས། ཏེ་དགེ་སློང་འདི་རོགས་དགེ་སློང་ངོ་མ་མས། ཏེ་ཁོ་འདི་ ཏེ་ག་དེ་འབད་རུང་བཏུབ་ཨིན་མས།
    Yes. In those days, there was a practise of killing an ox and making offering. {"okay", from the audience}. It was said that, because of his maraculous power and because he has to eat meat, [people] are forced to do. Monk was a real and would have been fine with anything.

    ཏེ་གཅིག་འདི་དཔོན་ཨིན་མས། ཏེ་ད་ལྟོ་ཤར་གྱི་ཁ་ཐུག་ལུ་ ཏེ་དཔོན་ དཔོན་ཁག་མང་སུ་ཅིག་ སྔོན་མ་མང་ཤོས་ར་ཤར་ལས་ཐོན་འོང་གསེས་མས། ང་བཅས་དང་ཕུགས་གི་(ཀྱི་)དཔོན་འདི་ཚུ་འབདཝ་ད། ད་རེས་འདི་ད་ དཔོན་རོགས་ནམ་མཁའ་མཉམ་མས་སྦེ་རོགས་ ག་ཏེ་གསེསཝ་ཡང་མིན་འདུག རང་ས་ཡོན་ཏན་གྱི་ལྕོགས་གྲུབ་དང་འཁྲིལ་ཏེ་འགྱོཝ་མས།
    One was King. During those days, it is said that most of the king would from Shar valley. Now according to ones education talent and ability, there are lots of king [heads] like sky.

    ཏེ་སྔོན་མ་འབད་བ་ཅིན་ ཡོན་ཏན་མེད་པའི་སྐབསས་སུ་ལུ་ དཔོན་འདི་ནཱ་ཤར་གྱི་ཁ་ཐུག་ལས་ར་ཐོབ་ཨིན་མས། ད་འ་ནི་ ཁོ་ཨ་ནི་ར་སྦྲགསཔ་འདི་ར་ དཔོན་ཁོ་ལུ་ འདི་འབདཝ་ད་ ཏེ་ཁོ་གིས་འབད་རྫུ་འཕྲུལ་རྐྱབ་ དཔོན་འཐོབ་བཅུག་དོ་ཡོདཔ་མས། ད་འ་ནེ་སྦེ་ཨིན་གསེས་མས། ཁོ་ལུ་གསོལ་ཁ་ཕུལ།
    In those days, when there is no education, more king [heads] would be from Shar. Radrag, using his super natural power, he would make king the people from Shar.
