Video Overview
Karchung and Jigme Wangchuk from Phongmey, Tashigang sing a religious song called Gurma. The song is dedicated to the great saint Jetsun Milarepa, and was said to have been composed by a resurrected man named Tenzin Gyamtsho of Bjanyonma village. He was a true follower of Milarepa, and half of his life was spent in meditation at Meme Ralang. Meme Ralang is considered a Khelha (the deity of Yabrang Jananma’s birthplace). This religious hymn could be taken from religious texts. It is believed that if a person is fully conscious of the spirituality of this song, it can serve as means of liberation and attainment of ultimate happiness.
