During the Mloko festival in the village of Hang, some time in 1944 or 1945, Haimendorf and his wife witnessed the erecting of a rope swing by Apa Tani villagers. Note that the villagers first secure the base of the post, pull the post into position, and then one man climbs up and finishes the task.
