The original name for Pemagatshel Dzongkhag was Dungsam in the olden days, but after the visit of spiritual master Doedjom Rinpoche, it was named Pemagatshel. Lepo did not mention any reasons for the name change. Doedjom Rinpoche visited most parts of the district and founded several monasteries and temples; this song was dedicated to the arrival of this spiritual master, His Holiness Doedjom Rinpoche. The lyrics also describe what he did for the community and provide descriptions of some of the temples.
