The song calls someone to travel in all four directions in order to obtain a precious jewel riding on an extraordinary horse belonging to Norbu Zangpo, an popular ancient trader. The precious jewel turns out to be a cuckoo bird that was claimed as an ornament of a sacred lake. The song calls for the cuckoo bird to be kept as a jewel at home.
