On the twenty-second day of the sixth lunar month around noon, the village hosting Luru Festival that year needs to receive all the people from the other village. Each day, six families are charged with preparing food for the three hundred plus people of the visiting village. The main food is shakya, which is Rebgong Mepa village’s speciality. The six families are very busy on that day! In the afternoon, all the Luru performances must be completed, and then the deity gives advice to the villagers and announces the Luru festival regulations, mainly that every man and woman needs to perform three circle dances and say ‘Bé’ twice.
