"Serkem Cham" is a black hat dance local to the Khar area of Pemagatshel district. The dancers wear a black hat with a long sleeve cham attire known as phego. But unlike in the case of other black hat dances, the phego gown has a layer of silk added around the waist. The dancers appear with drums in their hands and make an offering of alcohol to the deities at certain intervals. The cham is believed to have been founded by Terton Dorji Lingpa.
