"Dagana Lama Lazhoel" is the name of both a popular song and play, performed at local religious festivals. In this video the song is presented in Khothagpa to accompany the play that represents the characters in the song. The lyrics mostly talk of how men, women and lamas walk down the Dagala pass. However according to some of the elders who explain the song, it has a deeper meaning about the role these characters play in society. The composer of the song remains unknown but the lyrics indicate it originated from a place around Dagala, between Thimphu and Dagana.
