This is a kind of grain produced in Minyak of Dartsé Region. When the roads were not built hundred years ago, Tibetan residents use pack animals such as horse, mule and dzo to carry supplies, and started trading and collecting barley and various barley flours such as black, red and white barley flours. Thus, the barley and the barley flours that are produced in Minang Minyak became famous throughout Tibet. It is manifested in the Gesar epic: when the Sengchen Norbu Dradül, or Great Lion Jewel - Tamer of Foes defeated the enemies, brought forth happiness and peace for his people. Particularly, when the Great king conquered the the wealth city of Takzik Kingdom, reputedly he distributed barley seeds to the Minyak Yuri Tsegyel mountain range.
