Karzom is a weaver from Marangdue village. In this video, she talks about beliefs connected to the art of weaving. She says that it is auspicious for a person to arrive at a weaver’s house right at the beginning of a weaving job; it is inauspicious if the person arrives when the weaver is concluding the commission. In order to prevent obstacles and bad luck coming for this accidental arrival, the person needs to tie a thread from the weaving material on his or her middle finger, and keep it until it falls off by itself.
