Thrungla Yaya is a religious song that describes Talo Goenpa in Talo, Punakha. It is a sacred site and residence of Zhabdrung Ngawang Namgyal, the founder of Bhutan who came from Tibet. Three spiritual masters were born in the monastery. The three sons of Pedling were born in the temple from the mother Singye Dolma. The eldest son was Jigme Chogyal, the youngest son was Gangteng Truelku and the middle son was Tango Truelku—all born for the welfare of all sentient beings. Thus, the song celebrates the joyful occasion of the birth of great masters.
