Aulé is a local festival that celebrates with narrating the lyrics of Aulé in Laya community. People claims that lyrics of the Aulé was composed by Zhabdrung Ngawang Namgyal himself, while he host a three night at Chongra village. The lyrics of the song tells about the history of dzong built by Zhabdrung Ngawang Namgyal. They still celebrates the event on annual basis that falls on the 15th day of the 9th month of the Bhutanese lunar calendar (around October) the community holds a special festival called Aulé. It is held principally for the health and protection of the yak herds. This song is the central song that accompanies the Aulé rituals. The festival was aimed to arouse hopes and wishes for the bumper harvest, abundant rainfall and tranquility for their family.
