Gup (governor of a Gewog) Tashi of Bongo Gewog (county) in Chukha District, narrates about the archery match that takes place during the time of Nyedlo (Returning of the Day) festival at Chungkha village. He says that playing archery is done not only during such important festivals but also for other important events and celebrations. Yet playing archery during the Nyedlo festival is one of the old traditions passed down by their forefathers. Each year, on December 27th, Chungkha villagers celebrate this festival with archery matches. The celebration is done to bring auspicious luck and to keep the tradition alive. During the festivals and occasions, playing archery is one of the historic moments and it is religiously respected by the people in the community.
