Pushpa Lal Acharya from Menchenna village in Tsirang district narrates about the sacred site of Ma Devithane or Dongphu Ney, which is believed to be the residence of the god Shiva. People visit this sacred site to offer prayers and perform the puja ritual on occasions like 15th and 30th day of the month. They offer flowers and milk to this sacred site. He even narrates the legends of this site. The place was blessed by the hybrid animal called mithun, it used to come frequently to the site and went inside the cave, disappearing immediately. The villagers believed that was where the god Shiva manifested as a mithun. In the past, people from Dagana and Sarpang used to visit this scared site and offer prayers, as most of them considered the Ma Devithane site to be blessed by the god Shiva.
