Choeten Wangdi, a monk from Khominang village in Yurung, narrates an account of Tashi Choling Goenpa. It was built by lama Tashi Jamtsho who came all the way from Tibet to establish the temple as per his prophecy to build it at Nak-tshang in Khominang village. Then the lama named the Goenpa as Tashi Choling Goenpa, from his own name Tashi Jamtsho. The relics in the temple were brought from Tibet: Kasung Lhalung Paker Dorji statue and Sungten (text) Sergi Laekbam. Choeten Wangdi also mentions that Yongar Dzongpen (older aristocratic title, Lord) Kunzang Wangdi and Yurung Khoche Kuenzang both used to stay at Tashi Choling Goenpa while traveling.
