Tshering Wangpo from Mani Goenpa village in Zobel Gewog (county) in Pemagatshel Dzongkhag (district), narrates an account of Mani Goenpa Lake. The village comprises of 26 households who fetch water from the lake, which is believed to be the dwelling place of a mermaid (tshomen).
པདྨ་དགའ་ཚལ་རྫོང་ཁག་ བཟོ་སྦལ་རྒེད་འོག་ མ་ནི་གཡུས་ཚན་ནང་ལས་ ཚེ་རིང་དབང་པོ་གིས་ མ་ནི་དགོན་པ་མཚོ་གི་སྐོར་ལས་ ལོ་རྒྱུས་བཤད་དོ་ཡོདཔ་ད་ མ་ནི་དགོན་པ་འདི་ ཁྱིམ་གུང་ ༡༠ དེ་ཅིག་ཡོད་པའི་གཡུས་ཚན་ཆུང་ཀུ་ཅིག་ཨིན་མས། མཚོ་འདི་ མགོ་མཇུག་མེད་པའི་མཚོ་སྨན་གྱི་གནས་ས་ཅིག་ཨིནམ་ད་ གཡུས་ཁའི་མི་ཚུ་གིས་ མཚོ་དེ་ནང་ལས་ཆུ་ཡང་དབོགས་འབག་འོང་དོ་ཡོདཔ་ཨིནམ་ད་ གཡུས་དེ་ནང་སྡོད་མི་ཚུ་ ཆུ་དཀོན་སུ་ཅིག་ཡོད་ནི་དེ་གིས་ སེམས་ཅན་ཚུ་འདི་ལོས་ ཁག་ཆེཝ་འཐོན་སོང་པ་ཅིན་ མི་ཚུ་འབད་རུང་ མཚོ་དེ་ནང་ལས་དབོགས་འཐུང་དགོ་དོ་ཡོདཔ་སྦེ་བཤདཔ་ཨིན་མས།
- ཚེ་རིང་དབང་པོ་ Tshering Wangpoང་བཅས་ནཱ་མ་ཎི་དགོན་པ་ལུ་ ཆུ་ཨ་ཙི་དཀོན་སུ་ཅིག་ཡོད་ ཟེར་ཞུ་ནི། ཆུ་ཨ་ཙི་ཅིག་ ང་བཅས་སྡོད་ས་ཁ་མཐོ་ས་སྦེ་ ང་བཅས་ནཱ་གཞི་གསར་བཟུམ་སྦེ་ གུང་གྲངས་ལྷོདཔ་ཅིག་ གུང་གྲངས་བཅུ་ཐམ་དེ་ཅིག་ཡོད་ཟེར་ཞུ་ནི། ཏེ་འ་ནཱི་དོན་དག་ག་ཅི་སྨོ་ཟེར་བ་ཅིན་ འ་ནཱི་མཚོ་ལུ་བརྟེན་ཏེ་སྡོདཔ་ཨིན་ཟེར་ཞུ་ནི།We have limited water supply here in Mani Goenpa. It is a resettlement and on the high altitute. There is 10 household. We live depending on a Lake.
- ཚེ་རིང་དབང་པོ་ Tshering Wangpoཏེ་ད་ མཚོ་ལུ་བརྟེན་དགོ་པའི་དོན་དག་ག་ཅི་སྨོ་ཟེར་བ་ཅིན་ ཆུ་གཞན་ཁ་ལས་འབག་འོང་ས་མེདཔ་ལས་ ཏེ་ཨ་ནཱི་མཚོ་ལུ་བརྟེན་ཏེ་ ནོར་སེམས་ཅན་ཨིན་རུང་ ང་བཅས་ཁག་ཆེ་བ་ཅིན་ ཆུ་གཞན་ལས་མ་ཐོབ་པ་ཅིན་ འཐུང་དགོཔ་སྦེ་ཡོད།The reason for depending on the lake is because we dont have other source. we use the water from the lake for cattle and domestic animal and at critical times we also drink from there.
- ཚེ་རིང་དབང་པོ་ Tshering Wangpoའ་ནཱི་གི་སྦུག་ལུ་སྦེ་ ང་བཅས་ནཱ་ བཟོ་སྦལ་ལུ་ཡང་ ས་གནས་གཞུང་གི་བདག་སྐྱོང་གིས་གནམ་མེད་ས་མེད་ཐུགས་རྗེ་གཟིགས་ཏེ་ ད་ལྟོ་ཕྱག་ལཱ་གནངམ་གནང་ས་རང་ཡོད་ཟེར་ཞུ་ནི།Meanwhile the local government is still in the process to solve the water problem.
- ཚེ་རིང་དབང་པོ་ Tshering Wangpoཆུའི་རྐ་ཨ་ཙི་ཅིག་ ང་བཅས་ར་ནཱ་ མཐོ་ས་འབདཝ་ལས་ ཆུའི་རྐ་ཨ་ཚི་ཅིག་སྟབས་བདེཝ་མ་བདེཝ་ཐོན་ཏེ་ ཕྱག་ལཱ་གནང་བའི་བསྒང་རང་ཡོད། ཏེ་མཚོ་འདི་ དོན་དག་ག་ཅི་སྨོ་ཟེར་བ་ཅིན་ ང་བཅས་ནཱ་ལུ་ ང་བཅས་ཀྱི་གནས་སྲུང་བཟུམ་ཅིག་ཨིན་པས་ཟེར་ཞུ་ནི།Because of the limited water supply on the high altitute they are still working on it. The lake is like a deity here in our village.
- ཚེ་རིང་དབང་པོ་ Tshering Wangpoམཚོ་ཟེར་ ཞལ་འགྱོ་ནི་ཡང་མེད་ གནམ་མེད་ས་མེད་ཧོག་ཀ་སྦོམ་ཅིག་ཡོད་ཟེར་ཞུ་གེ་ ཁོ་གི་ད་རུང་རྐ་ཟེར་ རྐ་ཡང་མེད་ཟེར་ཞུ་གེ་ འ་ནཱི་ཁོ་གི་རོང་ཆུ་གིས་འཁྱིལ་སྡོད་སྡོདཔ། ཏེ་གཞན་འབད་བ་ཅིན་ ཨ་ནཱི་ཆུ་སྐམ་འགྱོ་ནི་ཉེན་ཁ་ཡོད་ ཁོ་ལུ་ཏེ་ བདག་པོ་གཅིག་ཡོད་ཞིནམ་ལས་ ཨམ་མཚོ་སྨན་རྒྱལ་མོ་ཅིག་ཡོད་ཞིནམ་ལས།The lake does not overflow but there is a very deep valley where the lake resides. There is no water source for the lake. Actually there is a danger of drying up but it does not. We think may be it does not dry up because there is a mermaid deity.
- ཚེ་རིང་དབང་པོ་ Tshering Wangpoཨིནམ་འདྲས་ཟེར་ ང་བཅས་ཀྱིས་མནོ་སྟེ་ ཁོ་ལུ་གསོལ་བཏབ་སྦེ་ ཏེ་ཆུ་ཡང་ཕར་ལས་འབག་འོང་སྟེ་སྡོདཔ་ཨིན། གསོལ་བཏབ་ནི་དོན་དག་ག་ཅི་སྨོ་ཟེར་བ་ཅིན་ ད་རུང་ ཁོ་ལུ་སྟབས་མ་བདེཝ་རེ་འཐོན་སོང་པ་ཅིན།Thinking that there is a deity, with respect and honour and performing ritual we use water from the lake. The reason for performing ritual is because if we don't respect and pollute it or do something bad to it.
- ཚེ་རིང་དབང་པོ་ Tshering Wangpoང་བཅས་ཀྱི་ཨ་ཙི་ཅིག་ རྣམ་ཅོ་བསུབ་ནི་ལ་སོགས་པ་འབད་བ་ཅིན་ ཁོ་ལུ་གསོལཝ་རེ་བཏབ་དགོཔ་འཐོནམ་ཨིན། དེ་སྦེ་ཡོད་ ཟེར་ཞུ་ནི། བཀའ་དྲིན་ཆེ།། །།we feel ill like we tend to hear nothing as our ear feels blocked so we have to make offering and perform small ritual. Thank you.
