Khotsa from Goenpa Singma village in Zobel Gewog (county) in Pemagatshel Dzongkhag (district), narrates an account of the Korshig tshechu (festival). This takes place in Goenpa Singma. It is one of many other religious festival besides the annual Zobel tshechu, forming the rich cultural diversity of this remote district.

- ཁོ་ཙ་ Khotsaལགས་སོ། བསྐོར་ཤིང་ཟེར་མི་འདི་ ག་ཅི་སྨོ་ཟེར་བ་ཅིན་ དང་པོ་ང་བཅས་ཀྱིས་ རྒས་ཤོས་ཚུ་ལུ་ ག་ཅི་སྦེ་འབད་དགོཔ་སྨོ་ཟེར་ཞུ་ཡང་མ་བལྟ་ ཡར་ལས་ཡང་མ་གསུངས་ལགས། ད་ལྟོ་ང་བཅས་ར་སེམས་ཀྱིས་བལྟ་བའི་སྐབས་ལུ་ ལོ་བསྐོར་རེ་ལུ་འབད་དགོཔ་སྦེ་ ལྷ་བཟུམ་སྦེ་ དང་པོ་གསོལཝ་བདེབས་ལས་བརྟེན།Alright, about Kor-shing, we didn't even ask our old parents the reason for performing it and they also didn't tell us. But from our opinion, as it is performed once in 12 years starting from the past
- ཁོ་ཙ་ Khotsaཤུལ་ལས་བཀོ་བཞགཔ་ད་མ་བཏུབ་ ང་བཅས་ཀྱི་སྐབས་ལུ་ ད་ལྟོ་ང་གི་སྐབས་ལུ་ ང་གིས་དབུ་མཛད་འབད་དེ་ཚར་གསུམ་འགྱོ་ཡི་ དུང་འཕུ་སྟེ་ཚར་གཅིག་ ན་ཧིང་གྲས་འགོ་ལུ་སྡོད་དེ་འབདཝ་ད་ ཚར་ལྔ་འགྱོ་དོ་ལགས་ བསྐོར་ཤིང་གི།Later, it could not be left unperformed. In my time, I've take part in the ritual for five times, three times as Umzey and once as head and once as Dhung (Ritual instrument like a trumpet) blower.
- ཁོ་ཙ་ Khotsaཆོ་ག་འབད་བ་ཅིན་ ཁུངས་ཡོད་རུང་མེད་རུང་ རང་གི་རང་ལུགས་འབད་པདྨ་ལྗོན་ཤིང་ བླ་མ་ནོར་རྒྱམ་གཞུང་བཏངམ་ཨིན་ལགས། དེ་ལས་སྐོང་བཤགས་ཀྱི་གཞུང་བཏངམ་ཨིན། བཀའ་བརྒྱད་བཏངམ་ཨིན་ལགས།As per Dharma, whether worthy or not, traditionally, we perform Pema Jongshing Lama Norjam Zhung. Along Kongsha Zhung, Kagay.
- ཁོ་ཙ་ Khotsaདེ་ལས་ བསགས་ཐངས་འབད་བ་ཅིན་ སྐོང་བཤགས་ལུ་ལྷོདཔ་ད་ ཤར་དུ་གླང་པོ་ ལྷོ་རུ་རྟ་མཆོག་ ནུབ་ཏུ་གླང་ཆེན་ཟེར་ ད་རུང་རྒྱ་ཚ་བཟོ་སྟེ་ བྱང་དུ་རྔ་མོ་ཟེར་ དབུས་སུ་སེང་གེ་ཟེར་ ལྔ་འདི་ལུ་མདོས་ལྔ་འཐག་སྟེ་བཏང་དེས་ལགས། འ་ནཱི་ལུ་བལྟ་སྟེ་ ཁུངས་ཆོདཔ་ཅིག་མེད་རུང་ ཧེ་མ་གི་དཔེ་བལྟ་སྟེ་ ཧ་ལམ་ཅིག་འབད་ དེ་སྦེ་བཏང་སྡོད་ཡོད་ལགས། ཁུངས་ཆོདཔ་ཅིག་མེད།Then, during Kongsha, we make Ox at East, Elephant at West, Fish at North, Horse at South and Lion in the center, five in total and perform the ritual copying from the past.
- ཁོ་ཙ་ Khotsaདེ་ལས་ ཆོ་ག་འབད་བ་ཅིན་ ཉིནམ་གསུམ་དེ་ཅིག་མདོས་འཐག་སྟེ་ དེ་ལས་ཨ་ནཱི་ཉིནམ་གསུམ་ཟེརཝ་ད་ མདོས་འཐག་ཚར་ཏེ་ གཏོར་བཞེངས་ཡང་ཚར་སྦེ་ ཆོ་ག་ཡང་བཙུགས་ཚུགསཔ་ཨིན་ལགས། དེ་ལས་ད་རུང་ ཉིནམ་གསུམ་དེ་ཅིག་ཆོ་ག་བཏངམ་ཨིན་ལགས།Then, during the ritual it takes three days for the preparation of models and around three days to perform ritual.
- ཁོ་ཙ་ Khotsaདེ་ལས་ཨ་ནཱ་ལས་ ཏེ་ཆོ་ག་འདི་ཏེ་ ད་ལྟོ་ཞུ་དོ་བཟུམ་རང་ཨིན་ བླ་མ་ནོར་རྒྱམ། སྐོང་བཤགས་གཞུང་། སྐོང་བཤགས་བཟློག་པ། བཀའ་བརྒྱད། འ་ནཱིམ་ཅིག་འདུག མ་མོ་ཁྲམ་དེབ་ཟེར་ མདོས་ཡང་དྲུག་འཐགཔ་ཨིན་ལགས། མ་མོ་ཁྲམ་དེབ་ཟེར་གཅིག་ཡང་བཏངམ་ཨིན།After that, the ritual is as mentioned earlier, Lama Norjam, Kongsha Zhung, Kongsha Dhokpa, Kagay. And also Mamo Tham-dhay.
- ཁོ་ཙ་ Khotsaམཇུག་ལུ་ ཉིནམ་གསུམ་ཟེརཝ་ད་ མཇུག་ལུ་གྲོལཝ་ད་ལུ་ ལོ་བསྐོར་རེ་ལུ་རྐྱངམ་ཅིག་འབདཝ་ད་ལུ་ དཔྱད་རིག་ཡང་ག་དེ་སྦེ་འོང་ནི་ ཏེ་ད་རུང་ དང་པོ་དཔེ་ཆ་ནང་ཡང་འདུག དང་པོ་ཕམ་རྒས་ཤོས་ཚུ་གིས་འབད་བའི་སྐབས་ལུ་ དེ་སྦེ་འབད་དགོ་ཟེར་ c འ་ནཱི་སྦེ་བཏང་དགོ་ འ་ནཱི་སྦེ་འབད་དགོ་ ཧ་ལམ་འདི་ལུ་བལྟ་སྟེ་ དེ་སྦེ་བཏངམ་ཨིན་ལགས།At the end, while closing, it is difficult to remember what we did last time before 12 years. Still it is in the ritual text about how to do it and we do it accordingly.
- ཁོ་ཙ་ Khotsaདང་པོ་བཟོ་བའི་བཟོ་ཐངས་འདི་ ན་ནི་ཚ་ནི་འདིན་མངམ་ལས་ ཨ་ཙི་འབད་རུང་སྐྱབས་འཚོལ་འཚོལཝ་ཨིན་འོང་ཟེར་ སྐྱབས་འཚོལ་ཏེ་ བཟློག་པ་ཨ་ནཱི་སྦེ་གནང་གནངམ་ཨིནམ་འོང་ཟེར།I think they have started performing ritual taking refuge from so many illness, thinking if it could atleast make a difference.
- ཁོ་ཙ་ Khotsaཤུལ་ལས་ཁ་མ་འཆམ་པར་ལུས་སྟེ་འབད་རུང་ ད་རུང་མ་བཏུབ་པར་འབད་དགོ་པའི་ལཱ་ཅིག་ཡར་སོངཔ་ཨིན་པས། ལུས་ཡང་ལུས་སོ་ནུག རྐྱེན་ལེ་ཤ་འོང་སྟེ་ ལོག་འབད་ཡི་ཟེར་ ང་བཅས་ཀྱི་སྐབས་ལུ་འདི་མེད་ འདི་བཟུམ་ཅིག་ ཧེ་མ་སླབ་དེས་ལགས་ སེ་མ་ཕམ་རྒས་ཤོས་ཚུ་གི་སྐབས་ལུ།Later, it became a tradition that could not be left out even if villager didn't get along. It was even left out and famine, drought and illness occured so it was restarted. It wasn't during out time but i've heard it from older parents.
- ཤེས་རིག་དོན་ཚོགས་ Sherig Dentshogབསྐོར་ཤིང་ཟེར་ སླབ་དགོ་པའི་དོན་དག་འདི་ག་ཅི་ཨིན་ན?What is the reason for calling it as Kor-Shing?
- ཁོ་ཙ་ Khotsaབསྐོར་ཤིང་ཟེར་ སླབ་དགོ་པའི་དོན་དག་འདི་ ང་བཅས་ཀྱིས་རྒས་ཤོས་ཚུ་ལུ་ཞུ་ཡང་མ་བལྟ་ ཁོང་ཡར་ལས་ ཨ་ནཱི་སྦེ་ཨིན་ཟེར་ཡང་གསུང་ནི་མིན་འདུག་ལགས། མ་པ་ལོ་བསྐོར་རེ་ལུ་འབད་ནི་འདི་གིས་ བསྐོར་ཤིང་ཟེར་ བཏགས་བཏགསཔ་འདྲས་ཟེར་ སེམས་ཁར་འ་ནཱིམ་ཅིག་མནོ་སྟེ་ཡོད་ལགས།We didn't ask our older parents and they also did not tell us the reason for calling it as Kor-Shing. Still than because of it taking place once every 12 years (12 years makes 1 Kor), we think that is why it is called Kor-shing.

- ཁོ་ཙ་ Khotsaའ་ནཱི་མ་བཏང་པ་ཅིན་ ཨ་ཙི་ཅིག་ ལོ་རེ་གཉིས་རེ་ཕར་འགྱང་སྦེ་ལུས་སོང་རུང་ གཡུས་ཁ་ལུ་སེམས་ཅན་འཐོན་ཏེ་ སྟག་ སེམས་ཅན་ག་ཅི་ཡང་འཐོན་ཏེ་ ཁོ་རན་སུ་ཅིག་འབདཝ་ད་ཡང་ ཨ་ཙི་འཐོན་འོངམ་ཨིན་ལགས། ཁོ་བཏང་ཞིནམ་ལས་ ཧིང་སང་ས་འབད་ རང་གི་སྣང་བ་ཡང་ཨིནམ་འོང་ ཁོང་ལུ་ཧེ་མ་སྐྱབས་འཚོལ་ཞིནམ་ལས་ བཀོ་བཞགཔ་བཏུབ་པར་ འདི་བཟུམ་ཅིག་ཨིན་ཟེར་ དང་ཕུ་ལས་རང་ དེ་སྦེ་སླབ་དེས།If it is not performed and even if it is prolonged for one to two years, wild animals appear, like tiger harm our cattle and others distroy our crops. There is more damage. If it is performed then there is no damage and may be it is just our believe but as we have started it could not be left out.
- ཁོ་ཙ་ Khotsaདེ་སྦེ་འབད་དགོ་ དེ་སྦེ་ཨིན་ ཁུངས་ཆོདཔ་ཅིག་མེད་དེ་འབད་རུང་ ཧེ་མའི་དཔེ་ ཆོ་གའི་ལས་རིམ་ཨིན་རུང་ རྒས་ཤོས་ཚུ་གིས་བཟོ་བཞག་བཞགཔ་ དང་ཕུ་འདི་ནང་ཡང་འདུག འདི་ནང་མ་ཚང་མི་ དེ་སྦེ་བཏངམ་ཨིན་ དེ་སྦེ་འབདཝ་ཨིན་ཟེར་ ཆོ་གའི་རིམ་པ་ ག་ར་འདི་ནང་ཀྲིག་ཀྲི་ འདི་ནང་བལྟ་སྟེ་ ཧ་ལམ་ཅིག་འབད་དེ་ ཁུངས་ཆོདཔ་ཅིག་འདི་མེད་ གཡུས་ཁ་ལུ།We have to do it even if it is not worthy. How to perform it, what are missing are all in the text made by our forefather and accordingly we perform.
- ཁོ་ཙ་ Khotsaཤུལ་ལས་ཨེབ་མི་སྒྲིང་སྒྲིང་མེདཔ་ལས་ ག་རྒསཔ་ཨིན་ན་ རྒས་མི་ཆ་ཁྱབ་གོང་ལས་སྡོད་དེ་ ཨ་ལོ་རྩེདམ་རྩེད་དོ་བཟུམ་སྦེ་བཏང་སྡོདཔ་ཨིན་ལགས། ཁུངས་ཆོདཔ་སྦེ་འབད་ནི་འདིན་འབད་མི་ཚུགས་པས། ཏེ་དཔེ་ཆ་ནང་ཡང་ ཧེ་མ་རོགས་རྒས་ཤོས་ཚུ་གིས་ ཟིན་བྲིས་ཡང་བཟོ་བཞག་སྟེ་འདུག་ འདི་ཡང་བལྟ་སྦེ།There isn't anyone who can really perform it exactly but older ones guides according to the text and younger ones perform it for the sake of performing even if it isn't worthy.
- ཁོ་ཙ་ Khotsaཨ་ནཱི་འབདཝ་ད་ ཉིནམ་དྲུག་དྲུག་བདུན་བདུན་དེ་རེ་སྡོད་དགོཔ་ཡོད་ལགས། དེམ་ཅིག་འབདཝ་ཨིན་ལགས་བསྐོར་ཤིང་ལུ། ཡང་ན་ཁྱིམ་ཡང་མེད་ སྤང་ཐང་ཆུང་ཀུ་ཅིག་ཡོད། སྤང་ཐང་ཆུང་ཀུ་ཡང་ ཧེ་མ་ཨ་ཙི་ཅིག་སྦོམ་སྡོད་ཡི་ ད་ལྟོའི་དུས་དང་བསྟུན་ དམངས་ཀྱི་འབད་ཞིནམ་ལས་ སླབ་མི་ཡང་མེད་པར།It takes six to seven days to perform the ritual. There is no house as such but a small ground. Before the ground was a bit bigger but now it has become smaller. As it belongs to the public, no one is saying anything and taking tare.
- ཁོ་ཙ་ Khotsaདེ་ལས་ཨ་ནཱི་མཁའ་འཁོརཔ་ཚུ་གིས་ནང་ན་འཛུལ་འོངམ་ལས་ ཆུང་ཀུ་འགྱོ་སྟེ་ ས་གོ་དོགས་དྲག་འགྱོ་སྟེ་ཡོད་ འ་ནཱི་བཏང་དོ་ལགས།Now it is covered by bushes and has become small and we perform there.

- ཁོ་ཙ་ Khotsaམི་ཤེས་ལགས་ཨ་ནཱི་ནམ་ལས་ཨིན་ན་ དང་ཕུ་ནམ་ལས་ཨིན་ན་ འ་ནཱི་མ་ཤེས་ལགས། འ་ནཱི་ཤེས་མི་ཡོད་རང་མི་འོང་ལགས། ང་བཅས་རྒས་ཤོས་ཟེརཝ་མ་གཏོགས་ ང་བཅས་ཀྱིས་ཡང་ འདི་ཁུངས་བཀལ་མི་ཚུགས། ང་བཅས་ཀྱི་ཨ་པ་ཚུ་གིས་ཡང་ ཁུངས་བཀལ་ནི་ལཱ་ཁག་འདུག ང་གིས་དུང་འཕུ་སྦེ་ལོ་གཅིག་ དབུ་མཛད་འབད་དེ་ལོ་གསུམ་ ན་ཧིང་ཨ་ལོ་ཚུ་གི་ལྟག་ལས་སྡོད་དེ་འབདཝ་ད་ ང་གིས་ཡང་ལོ་ལྔ་ཡར་སོ་ཡི་ལགས།No we do not know. There will be no one who knows about it. Neither we know about it nor our older parents knew the time it was started. Though I took part in the ritual for five times I don't know.

- ཁོ་ཙ་ Khotsaསྦྱིན་བདག་འདི་ ཧེ་མ་འབད་བ་ཅིན་ ང་བཅས་ནཱ་དགོན་པ་སིང་མ་ཟེར་སླབ་ཨིན་ལགས། དགོན་པ་འབདཝ་ལས་ཏེ་ ནཱ་ལས་ཨ་ཙི་རེ་ གྲོགས་རམ་སྦེ་ བཟོ་སྦལ་དང་ངང་མ་ལམ་པ་ཟེར་ གྲོགས་རམ་འབད་དེས་ལགས། ཨ་རྒས་ཨང་རྒས་ཚུ་གི་སྐབས་ལུ་ ཧེ་མ་ནཱ་དགོན་པ་ཟེར་ མི་ཕོག་ལགས་ང་བཅས་ལུ།Because of being at the Goenpa we dont have to sponsor but grand parents use to help Zobel and Nangmalang to Sponsor for the ritual.
- ཁོ་ཙ་ Khotsaདེ་ལས་ ལོ་གཉིས་གསུམ་ཡར་སོང་ཡི་ལགས་ད་ མར་ཁོང་དང་མཉམ་འདྲན་དྲག་རང་འབདཝ་ཨིན་ལགས། བཟོ་སྦལ་ ངང་མ་ལམ་ ང་བཅས་དགོན་པ་སིང་མ་ གཡུས་ཚན་གསུམ་བསྡོམས་ཏེ་ལགས།It has been three times and we are equally take part in it.
- ཁོ་ཙ་ Khotsaདེ་སྦེ་བསྡུ་བའི་བསྡུ་ཐངས་ ག་དེམ་ཅིག་གིས་ལང་ནི་མས་ག་བལྟ་སྟེ་ ཧེ་མ་ག་དེམ་ཅིག་བསྡུ་ནུག་ག་ ད་ལྟོའི་དུས་དང་བསྟུནམ་ད་ ག་དེམ་ཅིག་ཕོགཔ་ཨིན་ན་ གོང་ཚད་ག་དེ་སྦེ་ཡར་སེང་འགྱོ་དོ་ག་ ལོ་རེ་བསྟར་བཞིན་དུ་ཐེབས་བསྡུ་དགོ་པས་བ་ལགས། དེ་སྦེ་བསྡུ་བསྟུན་གྲོས་འབད་སྦེ་ ང་བཅས་གཡུས་ཚན་གསུམ་འཛོམས་སྦེ་འབདཝ་ཨིན་ལགས།How much to be collected? How much was collected before? As per the change in time, how much is needed? How many household have increased? We are having to collect more every year. Three village gathers and discuss and collect accordingly.

- ཁོ་ཙ་ Khotsaའཆམ་ཡང་མེད་ལགས་ག་ཅི་ཡང་། མ་པ་གཏོརམ་འཕངསམ་ད་ལུ་ ཞྭ་ནག་གཅིག་བཙུགས་སྦེ་ ཏེ་འ་ནཱ་ལུ་ འཆམ་ཁུངས་ཆོདཔ་ཅིག་ག་ཅི་འོང་ནི་ མ་པ་བྱ་བདའ་བཟུམ་སྦེ་ ཞྭ་ནག་བཙུགས་སྦེ་ཅིག་འབདཝ་ཨིན་ལགས།There is nothing as such but at the end we put on Zha-na while throwing the models there is a little bit, still it is not a gud one.
