Bodpa from Tungkudenpa narrates a marital drama between Mangdichu and Drangmechu Rivers, a male and female river respectively. They were husband and wife but both sought other lovers. Mangdichu courted the Bumthang Chamkhar River and Drangmichu pursued the Kuri River. These infidelities caused the couple to separate, and later fight over their only child. As they pulled at the child, holding a leg each, he was torn into two, creating a small river at the confluence of the Mangdichu and Drangmichu.
