During the Goru Tihar festival, the ox is worshipped. On this day, they make flower garlands, applying tika on the forehead of the ox. The ox is regarded as the closest and most important animal as it assists southern farmers to plough their land for farming. During Tihar, each day is devoted to honoring a different animal.
༉ གོ་རུ་ཏཱི་ཧར་དུས་སྟོན་གྱི་སྐབས་ གླང་ལུ་གསོལཝ་བཏབ་སྟེ་འབད་དགོ་པའི་ལུགས་སྲོལ་གྱི་མཐོང་སྣང་ཅིག་ཨིན་མི་འདི་ རྩི་རང་རྫོང་ཁག་ཉིན་ཟེར་སྒང་ལས་ བི་རེན་རའི་གིས་བཤད་པ་དང་སྦྲགས་ཏེ་མཐོང་སྣང་ཅིག་སྟོནམ་ཨིན་པས། དུས་སྟོན་གྱི་ཉིནམ་དེ་ཁར་ གླང་གུ་ཀྲི་ཀ་དབུར་ནི་དང་མེ་ཏོག་གི་ཕྲེང་བ་བཏགས་ཏེ་ཕྱག་འཚལ་བའི་ཚུལ་ཅིག་སྟོན་མི་འདི་ ལོ་གཅིག་གི་རིང་ལཱ་བཀོལ་ཏེ་ འབད་བཏུབ་དང་མ་བཏུབ་ཀྱི་ལཱ་ཡང་ལེ་ཤ་འབད་དོ་ཡོད་མི་ལས་ཀྱི་སྡིག་པ་ཚུ་ རང་ལུ་འཁོར་མ་བཅུག་པར་ལས་སྡིག་ཚུ་ག་ཅི་ཡོད་རུང་འདག་བཅུག་ཟེར་ སྨོན་ལམ་བཏབ་དོ་ཡོདཔ་ད་ གླང་གིས་ཞིང་རྨོ་ནི་ལུ་ཆ་རོགས་འབད་དོ་ཡོདཔ་ལས་ ཁག་ཆེ་ཤོསཅིག་སྦེ་བརྩིཝ་བཞིན་དུ་ ཏཱི་ཧར་དུས་སྟོན་འདི་ སེམས་ཅན་ཚུ་ལུ་གསོལཝ་བཏབ་པའི་ཉིནམ་ཅིག་ཨིན་པས།
- བི་རེན་རའི་ Biran Raiད་རེས་གླང་གི་ཏི་ཧར་ཨིན། དེ་བསྒང་ང་བཅས་ཀྱིས་ མེ་ཏོག་གི་ཕྲེང་བ་བཏགས་ དེ་ལས་ ཀྲི་ཀ་སྦྱར་ཞིན་ན་ སྤོས་འདི་ཚུ་བཏང་སྟེ་ གྲླང་ལུ་གུས་བཏུད་ཞུཝ་ཨིན། དེ་ལས་ རྩྭ་ཚུ་བྱིནམ་ཨིན།Today is Goru tihar and on Goru tihar, we make flower garland, we put tika to ox and we even light incense to pay homage to oxen. And we too feed them.
- བི་རེན་རའི་ Biran Raiགླང་ལུ་གུས་བཏུད་ཞུ་དགོ་མི་དེ་ཡང་ ཀཱག་ལས་ཏི་ཧར་ལས་ བཱ་ཡེ་ཀྲི་ཀ་ཚུན་ ཉིནམ་ག་ར་བརྩིཝ་ལས་བརྟེན་ཨིན་ དེ་ལས་ ད་རེས་ གོ་རུ་ཏི་ཧར་འབདཝ་ལས་ གླང་གུ་མེ་ཏོག་གི་ཕྲེང་བ་བཏགས་ཏེ་ རྩྭ་ཚུ་བྱིན་ཞིནམ་ལས་ ལས་སྡིག་ཚུ་འོང་མ་བཅུག་ཟེར་བའི་ སྨོན་ལམ་ཚུ་བཏབ་སྟེ་ ཕྱག་འཚལཝ་ཨིན།The reasons behind paying homage to ox is, in all days of tihar from Kak (crow) tihar to bhai tika, we do pay homage. And today being Goru Tihar, we put garland over ox, we feed them and prostrate to their feet praying let sin not be befall on us.
