Sonam of Woongchilo village in Pemagatshel district sings an Alo song called "Alo Ama Alo". It is an emotional song, narrating the sadness she felt during her mother's sickness. The composer is unknown. It is said the song originated from the village elders. Today it is still sung by the people of Woongchilo village and uses the local dialect Tshanglakha (Sharchop). The Koray and Alo songs are mostly sung in the eastern part of Bhutan. The lyrics say that the composer is willing to practice dharma but the lack of good karma does not favor him/her. His/her body cannot achieve the composer's plans and desires.
