People used to use poetic verses, ballads and songs in everyday conversation to express their feelings, thoughts and emotions. Aum Lemo narrates eight poetic verses that describe the auspiciousness of nature, leaders and renowned masters. People now perform or recite such poems only in the schools and colleges as a competition.
དངས་ཕུ་འབད་བ་ཅིན་ མི་ཚུ་གིས་བརྡ་སྤྲོད་དང་ བརྒྱུད་འབྲེལ་འབད་ནིའི་དོན་ལུ་ སྙན་རྩོམ་ཚིགས་བཅད་ཚུ་ ལག་ལེན་འཐབ་ནིའི་སྲོལ་ཡང་ཡོདཔ་ཨིན་མས། དེ་ཡང་ ཁོང་གིས་སླབ་པའི་བློ་ཚུ་ སྤྲོ་བ་ཆེ་ཏོག་ཏོ་དང་ དོན་ཁུངས་ཡོདཔ་སྦེ་བཟོ་ནིའི་དོན་ལུ་ཨིན་མས། ཁོང་རའི་བསམ་པ་དང་ ཚོར་བ་ཚུ་ རྩང་མོ་དང་ བློ་ཟེ་ གླུ་གཞེས་ དེ་ལས་ སྙན་རྩོམ་ཚུ་ལས་བརྒྱུད་དེ་བཤད་དོ་ཡོདཔ་ཨིན། སྤ་རོ་རྫོང་ཁག་ ཧུང་རལ་རྒེད་འོག་ནང་ལས་ ཨམ་ལེ་མོ་གིས་ རང་བཞིན་གནས་སྟངས་དང་ མིང་གཏམ་ཅན་གྱི་འགོ་ཁྲིདཔ་ཚུ་གིས་སྐོར་ལས་ སྙན་རྩོམ་ཚིགས་བཅད་བརྒྱད་ནང་ལུ་ ལོ་རྒྱུས་བཤད་ནི་འདུག། དེ་བསྒང་ཁོང་ཚུ་ འུ་སྡུག་ ཐང་ཆད་སྡོད་པའི་སྐབས་ སེམས་བག་ཕེབས་ཏོག་ཏོ་བཟོ་ནིའི་དོན་ལུ་ སྙན་རྩོམ་དང་ རྩང་མོ་ གླུ་གཞེས་ཚུ་འཐེནམ་ཨིན་མས། ཨིན་རུང་ ད་རེས་ནངས་པ་ འདི་བཟུམ་མའི་ལུགས་སྲོལ་ཚུ་གིས་ ཚབ་མ་ལུ་ མཐུན་རྐྱེན་གསརཔ་ འགྲུལ་འཕྲིན་དང་ རྒྱང་མཐོང་ འདི་ལས་གློག་རིག་ཡོངས་འབྲེལ་ཚུ་ཚུད་དེ་ཡོདཔ་ཨིན། དེ་མ་ཚད་ ད་རེས་ནངས་པ་ སྙན་རྩོམ་འདི་ སློབ་གྲྭ་དང་ མཐོ་རིམ་སློབ་གྲྭ་ཚུ་ནང་ འགྲན་བསྡུར་འབད་བའི་སྐབས་རྐྱངམ་ཅིག་ ལག་ལེན་འཐབ་དོ་ཨིན་མས། འདི་བཟུམ་མའི་ ལུགས་སྲོལ་འདི་ ག་གིས་ འགོ་བཙུགས་བཙུགསཔ་ཨིན་ན་མ་ཤེས་རུང་ མི་ཚུ་གི་སླབ་དོ་བཟུམ་འབད་བ་ཅིན་ ལུགས་སྲོལ་འདི་ མི་ཚུ་གནས་པའི་སྐབས་ལས་ར་ འབྱུང་ནུག་ཟེར་ཨིན་མས།
- ཨམ་གླེ་མོ་ Aum Lemoད་ཧེ་མ་ཧེ་མ་རོགས་ ཕམ་བཟངམོ་དང་མཁས་མཆོག་ཚུ་གིས་བརྩམས་བརྩམས་མི་བརྩམ་ཟེར་མི་འདི་ ཏེ་ད་རེས་ནངས་པར་ཡོངས་གྲགས་ མ་པ་ལས་ར་འགྱོ་ནི་མིན་ནུག ཏེ་ག་ཅི་སྨོ་ཟེར་བ་ཅིན་ ག་ར་བློ་ཟེ་དང་གཙང་མོ་འདི་ལུ་ ཏེ་ང་གིས་བལྟཝ་ད་ རྒྱ་མཐོང་ནང་བལྟ་རུང་ ཉན་རུང་ ག་ར་ཨ་ནཱི་བཟུམ་ཅིག་ཨིན་མས། ཏེ་ད་ང་གིས་བརྩམ་འདི་ཞུ་བ་ཅིན་ དང་པ་[ཚིག་བྱ་?]སྦེ་ཚར་གཅིག་ཞུ་བལྟ་གེ་ནོ།So, tsom [poem] which was composed by our wholesome parents and the great lamas is never popular this days. This is because, everybody goes for Lozay and Tshangmo as I have also seen in TV.
- ཨམ་གླེ་མོ་ Aum Lemoཡར་རི་གངས་ལས་འབབ་པའི་ཤར་ཤར་འདི། །དུང་དུང་ནགས་པའི་རྫ་ལུ་མ་ཐིམ་པར། །བླམ་གི་བུམ་པའི་ནང་ལུ་སོངས་ཅིག་རྒྱ། །The swift flow (of water) from the Mountain of God, dont get stuck in fornt of the balck cliff,but (water) librate from the vast of lama.
- ཨམ་གླེ་མོ་ Aum Lemoཔད་མ་གླིང་ལས་ཚེས་པའི་ཆུ་བཤལ་འདི། །དཀར་གདངས་ལྡན་པ་འཛམ་གླིང་ཀུན་ལ་ཁྱབ། ། ཁྲི་གདུགས་ཉི་མའི་བློ་གཏད་ཨིན་ཟེརན། །ལུས་ལ་གཟའ་འཛིན་གཉིས་ཀྱིས་མ་འགོར་བར། །སྤྱན་གྱི་མདངས་དང་ལྡན་ཏེ་བཞུགས་མ་རེད། །The moon dawned from the Island of Pema, the with the white rays is reached all over the world,If you (moon) are trustworthiness of the sun, then humbly stay with all the brightness without being encircled by the eclipse.
- ཨམ་གླེ་མོ་ Aum Lemoབདུག་རིགས་སྤོས་དཀར་ཧ་ལོའི་མེ་ཏོག་འདི། །མེ་ཏོག་ལེགས་པ་མི་ཆོག་དྲི་མཆོག་ཞིམ། ། མཆོད་ཁྲི་གོང་མའི་རྒྱན་ཆ་ཨིན་ཟེརན། །སེར་དང་བ་མོ་གཉིས་ཀྱིས་མ་བཅོམ་པར། །མཆོད་ཁྲི་གོང་མའི་སྟེང་ལུ་[ཕུལ་ད་གེ?]། །The carnation flower of the scented garden, the flower is not only beautiful but also have sweet smell,If (flower) you are the ornament of the high positioned lama, then spread your branches without being distoryed by the frost and hailstrom.
- ཨམ་གླེ་མོ་ Aum Lemoནོར་བུ་མཚོ་ལས་འཐོན་མི་དུང་དཀར་འདི། །དུང་དཀར་ལེགས་པ་མི་ཆོག་རྒྱང་གྲགས་ཆེ། ། བཀྲ་ཤིས་བླ་མའི་ཕྱག་མཚན་ཨིན་ཟེརན། །བྱེ་བྲག་ནོ་བུའི་བཀྱག་ལས་མ་འགྱུར་བར། །གསུང་སྐད་རྒྱང་ལས་སྙན་ཏེ་བཞུགས་མ་རེད་ལོ། །The white cornch taken from the ocean of tresure, it is not only beautiful but also attractive, If (cornch) you are the auspicious emblem of the lama, then up keep your (cornch) melodious voice without fading your inner strength of beauty.
- ཨམ་གླེ་མོ་ Aum Lemoརྫོང་ཆེན་ནི་ལས་འཐོན་པའི་འཚོ་མ་འདི། །ཁ་དོག་ལེགས་པ་རང་གཡུས་ཕྱོགས་སུ་བཞག །སྨན་ཆུང་བུ་མོའི་བློ་གཏད་ཨིན་ཟེརན། །ལུས་ལ་ན་ཚ་གཉིས་ཀྱིས་མ་འགོར་བར། །ཅན་གྱི་གདངས་དང་་་་་སྤྱན་གྱི་སྐུ་ཁམས་བཟངམ་སྦེ་བཞུགས་མ་རེད་ལོ། །The hero coming out from this big castle, let the handsome face be mine,If you are the trustworthniess of ladies, then live with good health without your body being infected by diseases and sickness.
- ཨམ་གླེ་མོ་ Aum Lemoད་རུང་འདི་གུའི་འཕྲོ་མཐུད་འདི་ཡང་ ད་རུང་ཨ་ཙི་ཙི་མ་འདྲ་ ཚིག་འབད་རུང་ ད་རུང་ཆུང་ཀུ་ཅིག་སླབ་པ་ཅིན།On top of this, let (me) again share another one which has got a different meaning:
- ཨམ་གླེ་མོ་ Aum Lemoརྒྱ་ཡི་[རྒྱ་ཐོག་སྒྲོལ་མའི་?]རྨ་བྱ་འདི། །གངས་ཆུ་བསིལ་མའི་ཕྱོགས་སུ་ལྷང་ལྷང་ཡོད། ། རྒྱ་ནག་རྒྱལ་པོའི་བཀའ་ལས་མ་གྲོལ་བར། །[རྒྱ་ཡི་རྒྱ་ཐོག་གྲོལ་རུང་?]སེམས་འཁྲུལ་བས་ལོ། ། ཆུ་མཇུག་རྒྱ་གར་ཤར་ལས་ལོག་པའི་ཚེ། །མཇལ་བའི་སྨོན་ལམ་བཏབ་གེ་ཡིད་འོང་མ་ལོ། །The peacock belonging to Ja-tho Dem [name given to an Indian girl] of India, is clearly (attached) to the cool mountain stream, As the Chinese Emperor didn't give the releasing order (of the peacock), its just a sad thing for Ja-tho Dem of India, (So,) my sweetheart, lets pray to meet when the end of the river flows back from the Eastern India.
- ཨམ་གླེ་མོ་ Aum Lemo[བོད་རིགས་བོད་ཐོག་སྒྲོལ་མའི་?]ཤང་ཤ་འདི། །[ཁྱམ་བྱ་?]དཀར་པོའི་ཕྱོགས་སུ་ལྷང་ལྷང་ཡོད། ། སྤྲུལ་པའི་ཆོས་རྒྱལ་བཀའ་ལས་མ་གྲོལ་བར། །[བོད་རིགས་བོད་ཐོག་གྲོལ་རུང་?]སེམས་འཁྲུལ་བས་ལོ། ། ལྷ་ས་ཇོ་བོ་མནྡྲལ་ཕུལ་བའི་ཚེ། །མཇལ་བའི་སྨོན་ལམ་བཏབ་གེ་ཡིད་འོང་མ་ལོ། །The mountain ridge belonging to Bheo-tho Dem [name given to a Tibetan girl] of Tibet, is clearly (attachd) to the white cliff, As the emanated king of Dharma didn't give the releasing order (of the mountain), its just a sad thing for Bheo-tho Dem, (So,) my sweetheart, lets pray to meet when the Loard of Lhasa offers 'mendel'.
- ཨམ་གླེ་མོ་ Aum Lemoགཡུས་རིགས་གཡུས་བཟང་སྒྲོལ་མའི་སྨན་ཆུང་འདི། །དམ་པའི་ལྷ་ཆོས་ཕྱོགས་སུ་ལྷང་ལྷང་ཡོད། །ཡབ་ཡུམ་གཉིས་ཀྱིས་བཀའ་ལས་མ་གྲོལ་བར། །གཡུས་རིགས་གཡུས་བཟང་གྲོལ་རུང་སེམས་འཁྲུལ་བས་ལོ། ། ལུང་བསྟན་གཉིས་ཀུ་ཆོས་ལུ་འབབ་པའི་ཚེ། །མཇལ་བའི་སྨོན་ལམ་བཏབ་གེ་ཡིད་འོང་མ་ལོ། །The girl Yoe-tho Dem [name given to a girl] belonging to this village, is clearly (attached) to the teachings of Dharma, As her parents didn't give the releasing order (for practising Dharma), its just a sad thing for Yoe-tho Dem, (So,) my sweetheart, lets pray to meet when the prophesy (for Dharma) falls upon.
- ཨམ་གླེ་མོ་ Aum Lemoཏེ་ནི་ཡང་ང་བཅས་ར་ ད་ཟམ་བུད་མེད་དེ་ཡང་ ཆོས་འབད་བར་འགྱོ་མ་ཚུགསཔ་ ཕམ་བཀོ་བཞག་སྟེ་ཡང་ ཏེ་འགྱོ་མ་ཚུགས་པར་ལུས་ མནོ་བསམ་འདི་ཆོས་ལུ་ཡོད་མི་ཅིག་གིས་བརྩམས་བརྩམས་བཟུམ་ཅིག་ཨིན་མས།། །།So, it can be assumed that this poem is composed by a lady like us who was longing to be a Dharma Practitioner but she was not being able to leave her parents back.
